Who am I? Well, I'm still trying to figure that out; but I do know who I want to be:
An Author.
Of course you probably guessed that already, seeing the name of the blog and all. But that is, none the less, who and what I want to be: An Author, and hopefully one day, a famous one. I have aspirations of publishing works such that will stand with those of Lewis, Tolkien, Austen and many more!
How do I know that's who I want to be? Well, because it's a passion that God has put in me since I was young and I want to pursue it. He has given me more plots and storylines than I know what to do with. He's even given me the ability to take even the most random dreams I've dreamed and turn them into fascinating narratives. But I don't say these things to brag, for I've had hardly any work to show for it.
I'll admit my story isn't the Dream to Reality plot you've probably seen and heard a thousands times before. This isn't like Rocky or Soul Surfer. Instead of chasing my dream, I've neglected it and been lazy. I've chased other things and gladly welcomed distractions. I've gotten some stories started and at least one finished, but that's not even a scratch on the surface of what I want to accomplish. It's about time I turned in the right direction and started chasing my goal. With the help and grace of God, I feel like I can make it, that's not too late after all.
Some of those who read this may cheer me on, and I thank them. Some will call me a dreamer that talks big and thinks big but will fall away eventually and procrastinate again, never to see her dreams reach the light of day. Well, challenge accepted. It's about time that I stepped back in the ring and finished this fight!
This blog is also big part of the work I want to do. For the longest time it has lain dormant, like my dream; untouched, with not a post to its name... Until now. Now I know what to do with it. You could take the question I've put at the beginning of this post and ask it again, this time in relation to the blog itself. What is it? Or, more importantly, what is it for? What's its purpose? That, reader I have asked myself, trying to figure out what to do with the blog I'd started years ago but did nothing with.
Well, now I know:
While I pursue my dream of writing and future authorship, I will post updates on my works as well as other things, such as:
Reviews (on what? Movies, TV, Books, you name it), things that God points out to me in my daily life (which include the Medias I've mentioned above), other observances and random things that I notice and think about (We'll cross that bridge when we come to it).
And so, to finish off this, my first official Authorsville blog post, I solemnly swear to post often and continue the work God has given me. Until then, I leave you with this:
Who am I?
I'm the Author of Authorsville, Tirzah L Adcock
